The 'harsh' Steve Clarke sacking that left West Brom players disappointed after Premier League heights
Next month will mark ten years since West Brom sacked manager Steve Clarke just months after the Scot had led the Baggies to their highest ever Premier League finish.
The current Scotland national team boss had enjoyed a sensational first season at the club, even reaching as high as third in the table at one point in the campaign.
But in his second season, after only seven wins from 34 Premier League games in the calendar year, he was axed with Albion two points outside the drop zone.
The Baggies managed to stave off relegation that season, and in the subsequent years finished as high as tenth under Tony Pulis.
But relegation ultimately followed and since then, both on and off the field, it has been difficult for Albion who are currently in their third consecutive Championship campaign.
Currently things are looking bright for the current crop with Carlos Corberan aiming to guide the club back to the promised land this season.
And if he can do that it will come just over ten years since the club fought off relegation on the back of Clarke's dismissal.
Former Baggies defender Billy Jones has been reflecting on Clarke's sacking and the subsequent end to that season on the latest episode of the Baggies Broadcast.
